“My name is Haneen, I am 18 years old and I’m from Syria. I came to Greece in 2016. When I arrived in Thessaloniki I was 14 years old, and I didn’t know Greek so I couldn’t communicate with anyone except my family. In 2017, we heard about the Union of Hellenic-Arabic Friendship, which teaches languages and the Qur’an. I started attending the lessons, making friends with children from Syria and other Arabic countries. The Arabic lessons helped us hold on to our mother tongue,


Project Update!
We're pleased to say that our Emergency Night Shift Project in Camp Moria 2.0 is in full swing. This means there is now 24-HOUR EMERGENCY CARE available for all camp residents (Mon-Fri). This could be lifesaving for those suffering from physical and mental health issues like asthma, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress and self-harm which can be exacerbated at night, as well as for victims of sexual violence.
